Core characteristics


1. High barrier properties
Oxygen barrier
: prevent oil from oxidation and rancidity, and extend shelf life (such as using EVOH or aluminum foil layer).

Moisture barrier: prevent external moisture from affecting oil quality.
Odor barrier: prevent external odor pollution or oil volatilization (common in aluminized film or high barrier coating).


2. Oil resistance
The material needs to resist oil penetration and avoid swelling or dissolution (such as PET, nylon and other oil-resistant materials).


3.Mechanical properties
Stretch/tear resistance: withstand extrusion and friction during transportation (such as BOPP, PET provide strength).


4. Puncture resistance: prevent sharp objects from piercing (multi-layer composite structure enhances protection).


5. Sealing performance
Excellent heat sealing performance (such as PE or CPP as the inner layer), ensuring that the seal is leak-free and pressure-resistant.


6. Chemical stability
Does not react with oil and avoids additive migration (must comply with food contact standards such as FDA).
Environmental protection

7.Tends to be recyclable (such as single material structure) or degradable materials (such as PLA), replacing traditional difficult-to-recycle composite films.

8. Printability

The surface is easy to print and the pattern is wear-resistant (such as the superior printing performance of the PET outer layer).

9. Temperature resistance

Resistant to high-temperature sterilization or low-temperature storage (such as PA/PE structure is resistant to low temperatures, CPP is resistant to high-temperature filling).

10. Other functionalities

Light-shielding: aluminum foil or aluminum-plated layer protects light-sensitive oils.

11. Antistatic: Reduce dust adsorption during production.

12. Weather resistance: Add UV stabilizers to prevent outdoor aging.


Traditional composite structure

PET/AL/PE: aluminum foil (AL) provides high barrier, PET enhances mechanical properties, and PE is used for heat sealing (common in high-end edible oils).

BOPA/EVOH/CPP: EVOH is oxygen-blocking, BOPA is puncture-resistant, and CPP is high-temperature resistant (suitable for high-temperature filling oils).

Environmentally friendly structure

PET/aluminum-plated/PE: Aluminum-plated instead of aluminum foil, easy to recycle.

Single material structure: such as all PE or all PP, improve recyclability.

Functional coating

PVDC coating: Enhanced barrier properties, low cost.

Silicon oxide coating: Transparent high barrier, suitable for packaging that needs to display contents.

Application examples

Edible oil packaging: PET/AL/CPP (light-shielding, high barrier, high temperature resistance).

Portable lubricant bag: BOPA/EVOH/PE (oil-resistant, puncture-resistant, lightweight).

Environmentally friendly packaging: PLA/PBAT composite film (degradable, used for organic oils and fats).
